The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is a prestigious and renowned government service in India.
It is the civil
service of the country, and the highest-ranking members of the service are responsible for the
day-to-day administration
of the nation.
The IAS is one of the three All India Services, the other two being the Indian Police Service (IPS)
and the Indian
Forest Service (IFS).
It is one of the premier services of the Union government in India, and its
members are selected
through the Civil Services Examination, administered by the Union Public Service Commission.
Members of the IAS are responsible for the country's administration at the district, divisional,
state, and union
levels.
They are responsible for the implementation of various policies and laws framed by the
Central and State

The IAS is open to all Indian citizens who are graduates and meet certain other eligibility
criteria. Selection for the
IAS is done through a highly competitive examination, and those who are selected from the
examination are then trained
in the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, located in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand.
